If you\u2019re unable to go to a yoga class, you can start right at home with minimal equipment. Here\u2019s what we recommend:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A yoga mat<\/li>\n<li>A set of blocks (optional)<\/li>\n<li>A strap (optional\u2014you can also use a towel, scarf, or belt)<\/li>\n<li>A chair (optional\u2014but if you choose to use one, we recommend a chair without arms, like dining room chair or something similar)<\/li>\n<li>Comfy, non-constricting clothes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you don\u2019t want to invest in equipment just yet, you can start with just a mat and comfy clothes. The blocks, strap, and chair are all helpful, but not completely necessary. As you grow your practice, you\u2019ll learn which props you need and which ones you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>A few things to remember before you begin:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check with your healthcare provider before you start any new fitness regimen<\/li>\n<li>If you are already active, you may want to start with longer sessions<\/li>\n<li>If you are working on becoming more active or have limited mobility, we recommend beginning with shorter sessions<\/li>\n<li>Regardless of your fitness level, take breaks whenever you need to<\/li>\n<li>Follow modifications given in videos if you feel it would better serve you<\/li>\n<li>Listen to your body.
